Notes of: JUICE BOXES, WHITE WINE, FIELD FLOWERS
Fermented in stainless for 7 months on freshly cut white peaches.
Malt: Hogarth Undermodified Pils, Chit, Vienna, and Red Shed Malting Malted Oats, Raw Wheat
Hops: Triskel, Aged 2008 Nugget Whole Leaf
Yeast: WY3724, native wild yeast from the peach skins
TA: 10.09 g/L
Acidity: Moderate

The name of this, the second in our sleek can series is hardly a stretch. This unblended beer was all about putting nature’s candy in your hand, via can. To quote Jack Black as Bowser: “Peaches, peaches, peaches, peaches, peaches.” And while these peaches do indeed come from a can, before they were put there by a man, they were delivered fresh, juicy and en masse from our friends at @soutofarms who gave us their whole season’s harvest.
Then, onto our peachy foundations we poured a freshly brewed Saison made with 100% @hogarthmalt and @redshedmalting malts. Patience was the next addition to this recipe and we needed a lot of it. After 7 months of holding our breath and another 5 to condition in cans, that long awaited first taste was everything we hoped for and more. It’s got obvious notes of stone fruit and some more subtle citrus and floral tinges from the hops.
As it happens, you don’t have to move to the country to drink a lot of peaches. You just have to swing by our taproom (located very much in the city) to grab a 4-pack of Nature’s Candy. From there you can chart a course to whatever setting you wish to sip this from!

Photo Inspiration: “The story behind this photo in particular is that I was craving an adventure of any kind so I went out on a solo camping and hiking trip to Riding Mountain National Park. I hadn’t done something like this before by myself, so it really was outside of my comfort level. My hike was along a thin sandy pathway that separated two bodies of water, it opened up into a rocky beach area and that’s when I saw the butterfly. It had followed me around on the beach as I enjoyed the scenery and allowed me to get up close to it. Moments like that, shared with a butterfly made me realize how comforting nature can be when it knows you absolutely need it.”
BREWER’s NOTES
“Nature’s Candy is an unblended Wild Ale with a freshly brewed Saison base wort (made with 100% local malts from our friends at Hogarth and Red Shed) that was put directly onto freshly cut white peaches from our friends at Souto Farms. The locality, rustic nature, and fact that we added fruit so early in the process make this a special one.
We wanted to experiment with creating a lightly acidic fruited Saison, and these white peaches did not disappoint. They were super juicy upon arrival (don’t worry, we made sure to thoroughly taste test them) and we were provided with nearly their entire crop for the season! At the end of the day, this haul of whole, white peaches made up 30% of the beer by weight.
Nature’s Candy is a lyric from the song ‘Peaches’ by The Presidents of the United States of America. It was selected because it is an absolute banger, and because they mention peaches a time or two throughout the song!”
