Announcing the amethyst, the legend, and our latest barrel-aged mixed culture beer! Purple and precious, this brew smells of blueberry syrup poured over piping hot pancakes finished with lemon zest. We took inspiration from its ingredients and our love of blueberry lemon tarts, so if you’re looking to satisfy your craving for baked goods with a brewed great, look no further.
To make its base e blended three barrels of mixed culture Saisons and one Lambic-inspired brew before fruiting the lot. We were really looking to achieve a delicate malt to hop flavour ratio so that our whole, juicy blueberries could shine like the stars they are. It might sound like a dangerous game, but we all came out winners.
It’s low in acidity and high in funk, visual appeal, and probability of becoming your next favourite. It’s a feast for the eyes and guaranteed to get the taste buds a tingling. How could you not fall under its spell? Venture into Amethyst Realm at your earliest convenience.

MEET THE LABEL ARTIST: RENÉE WHITE
Renée White, a Calgary artist and graphic designer, tells stories with vintage-inspired linocuts, drawings and patterns. The texture of ink on paper appeals to Renée’s love for things that are a “little rough around the edges”. Her White River Studio projects explore techniques combining fine art and commercial design.
THE INSPIRATION: Storytelling is an important aspect of my artwork. While reading the notes describing Amethyst Realm, the story James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl popped into my head. I adore this imaginative children’s story about a boy crossing the Atlantic Ocean in an enormous piece of fruit. Blueberry is the star of this beer, so I wanted it to be the hero of the label artwork. The deep purple-blue colour of the beer gives it an enchanting quality. Amethyst in its crystal form works to sweep negativity away from clouding the mind while sparking inspiration. To illustrate the magical essence of the beer using my linocut illustrations, I created a star lit, wild forest of lemon thyme where a giant blueberry presides over the Amethyst Realm.
