The Establishment is very excited to present folk musician, ethnomusicologist, and folk music scholar Mike Tod, with special guests for weekly live music at the taproom on Thursdays at 5:00 pm, starting next week!
Mike Tod is a wry and raspy tenor bringing old-time music to our modern taproom, singing well-worn traditionals, researching their roots, and sharing them in a fashion that seems old, yet contemporary at the same time.
With an acoustic guitar resting on his knee and an austere yet passionate timbre, Tod brings old songs to life, stoking listeners with stories of where the songs come from and their historical context. You may hear anything from a cowboy song from Alberta’s coulees to a border ballad from the Lowlands of Scotland.
No cover, just great tunes, great stories and great beer. For reservations, please email rich@establishmentbrewing.ca.
