Previously known as Fat Sherpa, we have renamed this beer reflect a more respectful and inclusive beer community.
Don’t be fooled by the name, this beer’s no unknown interloper. Formerly known as Fat Sherpa, Wandering Star is still a rich, chocolatey classic quaff. More than that, it’s proof that a great robust porter by any other name tastes just as delicious! Brewed using dark malts which are to credit for its night-sky hue and roasty, toasty coffee notes. Lightening up the darkness are some light citrus and floral elements from the hops. Though more subtle than the up-front maltiness, the hops linger longest with a balanced bitterness that fades slow.
This shining star has helped us bring home a fair amount of glitter and gold over the years, including our first ever Alberta Beer Awards gold medal in 2019. It’s also Dave’s winningest homebrew recipe! Wander into our taproom and stay awhile to share some of this renamed but never remixed favourite with a friend—or maybe Dave himself.
